Dave & Holly

Set amongst Wisteria clad walls, trailing clematis and sweet-smelling roses was the enchanting venue for Mr and Mrs Rudman to celebrate as newlyweds. The garden was dressed in pastel coloured bunting, upturned cable drum bobbins as tables and wooden benches adorned with floral scatter cushions. This set the scene for a rather beautiful English wedding. As Holly left their quintessential English cottage, I captured her father plucking a crimson rose from a nearby bush and placing it in his button hole. The dogs were ushered into the house and they then sped off in a rather grand 1930's Vintage Rolls Royce. I raced ahead to the gothic Danehill village church where guests, and of course David the groom, eagerly awaited Holly’s arrival. The church, although dark, presented some great photographic opportunities as it was rich in atmosphere which provided the perfect picture back drop for the ceremony.

After the service, I got some great shots of David and Holly walking up the tree lined avenue towards their awaiting “transport” ….. a huge Tractor! A first for me! I’ve never photographed newlyweds sitting on a bale of hay in a tractor bucket drinking Champagne! Fabulous and great fun to photograph.

The wedding party then headed back to the cottage where they were greeted with Pimms and canapes on the lawns in front of an impressive marquee. The venue was inspiring for me as a photographer offering so many great photographic backdrops such as neatly cut paths through meadows, roses over arches in walls and an invited clear blue swimming pool glittering the the glorious English sunshine, surrounded by well-established Maple trees and Acers. A dreamy setting and an absolute delight to photograph. Thank you David and Holly for inviting me to be part of your special day and good luck to the two of you as Mr & Mrs Rudman xxx.

Note: David and Holly requested a very informal approach with my photography, with minimum staged photographs. They hired me from the wedding ceremony to the start of their wedding breakfast, but as the church and reception venue were so close, I couldn’t resist nipping by to steal a few shots of Holly leaving home for the ceremony!

Here are just a few images from the day...
